MBA Accelerator for creative companies

The Creative Industries Innovation Centre, together with the UTS Business Faculty, have launched the MBA Accelerator.

This is a half-day brainstorming session where a diverse mix of 20-40 “brains” will focus on helping your company innovate and improve. 

Why it works: The value of the MBA Accelerator comes from our MBA advisers extremely diverse mix of backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. Each adviser will contribute with unique ideas, and help to evolve the ideas of others.
 
How it works: The advisers will focus on brainstorming 3-6 questions/issues of your choosing. This could be “what can I do differently to grow my company?”, “how can I improve my services”, “how should I target my customers” or any other strategic questions you might have. Our advisers will then help you work out a medium term goal and a five-step plan for getting there.

We will offer a series of MBA Accelerator slots, each with a slightly different focus. If this sounds like it could be of interest, then please contact CIIC Commercialisation Manager, Filip Hron for more information.

Please note that both of the upcoming sessions in August and September have now been filled.

Slot 1: Tuesday 24 August

Time: 6pm-9pm
Cost: Free
Location: Sydney CBD
Type of company sought: A creative industries start-up company that has a great idea. Very early stage companies are encouraged to apply.
 
Mix of advisors: 42 masters level participants in the Innovation and Entrepreneurship subject at UTS
Selection: We have room for one company on this day, and aim to fill this on a first-come-first-serve basis. The selected company will have to be available for a follow up Q&A session with the participants on 5 October 6pm-9pm and are also invited to participate in the evaluation of students’ business plans on 2 November 6pm-9pm.

Slot 2: Saturday 11 September 2010

Cost: Free
Location: Sydney CBD
Type of companies sought: Service-based companies in the creative industries
 
Mix of advisers: MBA and Masters level students in the Innovative Services Management subject at UTS.
 
Selection: We have room for 2 companies on this day and aim to fill these slots on a first-come-first-served basis. Selected companies will need to be available for a brief follow up Q&A session with the participants 6-7.30pm on 11 October.

Please be advised that we will be focusing on NSW-based companies for Slot 1 & 2. However, we will be rolling the program out on a national basis.
