The Creative Industries Innovation Centre (CIIC) is partnering with the NSW Manufacturing Centre to deliver, ‘Designing your future: the role of design integration in manufacturing innovation and growth’ on May 13, 2010 at Sydney Olympic Park.

CIIC Director, Lisa Colley, said the event aims to explore the benefits that can be achieved by integrating design into the manufacturing sector, to gain a competitive advantage.

“The Creative Industries Innovation Centre is proud to be co-hosting this event with the NSW Manufacturing Centre, as it will enable manufacturers and designers to come together and discuss how design can significantly impact business operations.

“This is part of the CIIC’s role, which is to transfer the knowledge and skills within the creative industries into other sectors, such as manufacturing, which can benefit from design thinking and integration,” Ms Colley said.

The national vice president of the Design Institute of Australia, and managing director of Ideal Industrial, Oliver Kratzer, will facilitate a discussion with design integration leaders about their experience of design-driven innovation and growth in manufacturing. They will also discuss successful case studies from programs that have been run in New Zealand, Victoria and Queensland.

The event panelists include:
