Supporting Sydney's top 100 creative talents

04 June 2010 CIIC news NSW

The Creative Industries Innovation Centre is supporting Creative Sydney’s 10 x 10 Project, where ten industry leaders choose the ten best emerging creative talents, resulting in Sydney's hottest 100.

The industry leaders include Liane Rossler of Dinosaur Designs, author and entrepreneur Ross Dawson, and animation and motion graphics studio Sixty40, just to name a few.

The 100 selected will receive tailored business support, delivered by the CIIC, in addition to being featured on a dedicated micro-site, hosted by www.theloop.com.au - a new creative industries portfolio website.

The nominees will be unveiled at the Creative Sydney launch on June 4th 2010 at the Sydney Museum of Contemporary Art.

CIIC Director, Lisa Colley, said that supporting 10 x 10 would enable the CIIC to achieve its vision of supporting the next generation of creative leaders.

“We believe that today’s emerging creative practitioners are tomorrow’s creative leaders, and by offering access to professional business support and advice, the Creative Industries Innovation Centre can help them to make that critical step-change,” she said.

“Creative start-ups and entrepreneurs need different assistance compared to established companies, which is why we’re offering  tailored support packages.

“We hope that in a year’s time we will hear some great stories from this group of 100 companies about how they have progressed as a result of the 10 x 10,” Ms Colley said.

An outline of the CIIC services that will be provided to the 10 x 10 participants is below:
