Do you have a high-potential creative business?

If you run one of Australia's most promising start-up or grown-up creative businesses, you may have the chance to take part in the Creative Industries Innovation Centre's new Accelerator Program.

This experimental business program will connect creative businesses with experts in finance, technology innovation and intellectual property law in order to help them receive business advice and realise their potential for growth.

Launching for the first time in early 2010, the CIIC Accelerator will give creative businesses a chance to work with senior executives from Australia's leading business advisory organisations in a 'creative brainstorming' session.

If you are selected to take part, you could workshop your business ideas with our program partners - Ernst & Young (growth strategy), Freehills (IP law), IBM Development Lab (technology) and Westpac (finance).

Who is the program targeted at?

The CIIC Accelerator is primarily intended for creative businesses that can demonstrate a scalable business model in an attractive market, or have assets (e.g. IP, technology, R&D capability etc) that can be leveraged to drive growth in your businesses current market or in new markets.

What are we looking for?

Please note that entry into the Accelerator business program is highly competitive, as the sessions will be offered on a limited basis. The CIIC Commercialisation Manager will select creative businesses that display a robust understanding of their market, opportunities and constraints, consumers and audiences, and possess strong references and high-calibre management.

What does the Accelerator aim to achieve?

The objective of the Accelerator program is to:
• Connect high potential creative firms with leaders in IP law, growth strategy, technology innovation and finance,
• Provide a unique process and environment through which the CIIC and it's partners aim to uncover the untapped potential of creative firms, and
• Facilitate better commercial understanding between professional/financial services and creative industries.
